Whereas singular verbs in the past tense denote gender, present tense verbs play a different game and so we say Он уезжает for "He is leaving" and Она уезжает for "She is leaving" in the present tense. However, in the past tense it was Он уезжал for "He left" and Она уезжала for "She left."

Она сидит под мостом.
(She is sitting under the bridge.)

Они спорят каждый день.
(They argue every day.)

Она уезжает сегодня.
(She is leaving today.)

Я ловлю черепахи.
(I am catching turtles.)
